CELLULOIDRA REVOLVER EXPERIMENTAL
FILM FESTIVAL 2025

DRUKKER BIOLABOR / SUSTAINABLE DARKROOM

At the second edition of the event in Esztergom, participants of our workshop were able to enlarge from 35mm movie film positives on the closing day. We developed paper prints using sage, turmeric, and caffenol—working with tools
and materials commonly found in most households that are
biologically harmless, such as vitamin C, tannins, and salt.

INOTA 2025

DRUKKER BIOLABOR / SUSTAINABLE DARKROOM

At the INOTA Festival, our workshop participants could take part in an
analog photo tour and biolab activities. On Friday, we explored the power
plant with 35mm cameras and took photographs, and on Saturday,
we developed the negatives using a caffenol process.

In our workshop, we covered the basics of analog photography, film development, and printing, while avoiding the often toxic and environmentally harmful chemicals of traditional photo processing. Instead, we worked with tools and materials commonly found in most households that are biologically harmless, such as vitamin C, coffee, tannins, and salt.

DAAD 2025

DRUKKER BIOLABOR /

SUSTAINABLE DARKROOM

Environmentally conscious photography and lab workshop with the team of the Drukker. During several days of analogue photography sessions, we will go from shooting on 35mm film to negative developing process to enlarging with environmentally friendly “chemicals” such as coffee, vitamin C, etc.
The pre-registration workshop will allow you to take your own
analogue photos at the festival, which you can then develop with
expert help and enlarge to paper together. Disposable
cameras and materials for photo processing
will be provided for the workshop

ARTIST RESIDENCY 2025

In June and July, we organized our first printmaking artist
residency in the Kőkert, Pécs. The program aimed to showcase
both contemporary and traditional printmaking techniques,
support the professional development of young artists and
students, and create the experience of community-based creation.

Participants engaged in intensive, multi-day workshops led by professionals experienced in graphic arts. The program included stencil-making sessions, printing with hand-operated Gestetner machines, a biolab introducing camera-less photography and eco-friendly developing methods, risograph workshops, discussions on zine and small publishing culture, collaborative poster-making using the risograph, bookbinding, and light installation workshops involving collages and montages made from recycled materials.

On the closing day, the artworks created during the workshops were presented in a pop-up installation and a projected exhibition, which was part of the off-program of the Fényfesztivál.

REBELLIOUS GIRLS CAMP WITH NANE AND PATENT ASSOCIATIONS

We were one of the stops in the summer camp’s program: within
the framework of the camp, we held a relief printing workshop
for the girls’ team of Élménytár Tanoda.

ESC 2025

In October, the ESC volunteer program started in our workshop
for the third time. On this occasion, we hosted three volunteers: Janka, Patrik, and Robi, who became involved in many of our
projects. Their ten-month work was supported by the
European Union and the European Solidarity Corps.

WORKSHOP AND EXHIBITION IN SUPPORT OF THE SERBIAN STUDENT PROTESTS

The wave of protests in Serbia, ongoing since autumn 2024, was sparked by the tragedy in Novi Sad on November 1, when the collapse of the railway station roof claimed 15 lives.

The lack of accountability and the cover-up of corruption scandals surrounding the construction were first brought to public attention by Serbian university students, who turned the issue into a matter concerning society as a whole.Through numerous demonstrations and symbolic acts, they expressed their demand for consequences and called for broad, cross-border solidarity among all responsible individuals against corruption and oppressive power structures.

Our print workshop fully supports the cause of the Serbian students
and, in this spirit, invited people in Pécs to a joint workshop.

NAÏVE GALLERY

With the Naïve Gallery project, we presented various creators
and communities of outsider art. Thematic exhibitions and programs could take place in museum/public collection settings, since the opening of domestic cultural institutions towards social
engagement remains limited.

As the first stop of the Naïve Gallery, we showcased young people with intellectual disabilities, the supporting foundation Fogd A Kezem Alapítvány, and artworks created during the Art Brut! integrated seminar at the Faculty of Arts of the
University of Pécs. The exhibition was hosted by the Museum Gallery
of the Janus Pannonius Museum.

Opening of the exhibition: Eszter Tóth, art historian

Curators: Katalin Getto (Janus Pannonius Museum), Ildikó Móricz
(Drukker Community Print Workshop)

Graphics: Ildikó Móricz (Drukker Community Print Workshop)

Project lead: Balázs Varga (Drukker Community Print Workshop,

INOTA FOCUS: RADIANCE
DRUKKER BIOLABOR / SUSTAINABLE DARKROOM

At the family day of the INOTA Festival, we held
a workshop in the courtyard of the power plant.

Light. Photographic paper. Chemical X.

As part of the Drukker Luminokitchen program, we invited participants to a communal “cooking session” in our instant darkroom, where they could get to know the basics of analog photography and luminogram making.

MALOMFESZTIVÁL 2024

Screen printing workshop at the Malomfesztivál

For the third time DRUKKER visited the Vojvodina Malomfesztivál. In 2024
we prepared an out of the ordinary screen printing workshop. We usually
work with pre-exposed screens, but this time we chose a chemical-free, eco-
friendly method. The negative designs were created using tape, which then functioned similarly to traditionally exposed screens. The finalized designs were printed onto various textile surfaces before the festival, and from these, a curated textile collage was assembled. The final piece decorated the area around the
acacia stage at the Malom Festival during the event.

The initiators and camp leaders of the 2024 project: Biacsics Renáta,
Munjin Dia és Szabó Róbert. But none of this could have happened
without the enthusiastic campers!

DAAD GATHERING 2024

Developing Film with Coffee at the DAAD Festival

During the festival, participants were introduced to an old technique that
enables film development in an environmentally friendly way. At the workshop,
Ákos Levente, Varga Balázs and Szentpéteri Dóri shared the ins and outs
of homemade analog solutions with interested festival-goers. The caffenol
process uses everyday ingredients such as instant coffee,
vitamin C, and washing soda.

Answering the call of the DRUKKER print workshop in Pécs, Budapest-
basedmicro-publishers HURRIKÁN, DEPOSIT, SZITÁS CUCCOK (Szurcsik Erika),
and VULKÁN joined forces to fill the Nádor Gallery with fresh underground
printmaking works. In addition to showcasing their own publications and posters, they also selected works from the following workshops: SLEEP ON IT PRESS (Athens), MATRIJARSIJA (Belgrade), PARTIZAN PRINT (Skopje), LE DERNIER CRI (Marseille), SYMPOSION (Subotica), and TENDERETE (Valencia). Visitors can explore a rich selection of relief and offset prints including linocuts, woodcuts, screen prints, and risography, as well as limited edition publications.

IISMAVO 2024

A one-semester vocational training program by the Department of Community and Social Studies at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Pécs.

In 2024, IISMA students from Indonesia joined us for the second time.
Four students participated in community work at DRUKKER for three months.
This year’s program included the creation of a collaborative zine, in which the
participants reimagined characters from traditional stories of their home countries
within a Hungarian context. During the program, the students were introduced to
the basics and applications of analog photography, relief printing, and risograph techniques. Using the equipment and tools available in the studio, they created
their own bookmarks, analog photos, and zines.

MALOMFESZTIVÁL 2023

We were thrilled to take part in the Malom Workshop for the second time!
During the camp, we illustrated poems by contemporary writers from Vojvodina
using linocut techniques and compiled them into a publication titled "Biased
cracks". Many thanks to the festival organizing team, the creative
campers, and the poets for the unforgettable experience!

GRAPHICPÉCS 2022 WORKSHOP

Novemberben a GraphicPécs 2022, 1. Nemzetközi Grafikai Fesztivál keretében nemzetközi plakátkiállítás
falai között rizóztunk

A workshopon a GraphicPécs keretein belül az M21 Galériában rendezett plakátkiállítás helyszínén Biacsics Renáta és Csibi Anett segítségével elsajátíthatjátok a Risograph nyomatkészítés alapjait, mesterfogásait.

I DON'T NEED GLASSES IN THE ALLEYWAY

We adapted the poems of József Révész — a recently deceased homeless activist — into an illustrated community publication, supported by A Város Mindenkié Pécs and Szabad Terek.

Révész’s poems were selected and illustrated by our creators who knew him personally, along with members of AVM, resulting in a unique publication. A limited number of Risograph prints were produced at Drukker.

The illustrations made for the book were exhibited at three locations: first in Kozármisleny, then on Margaret Island in Budapest as part of the Budapest Spring Festival’s side events, and finally at Ukmukfukk Zinefest in Budapest — a celebration of Hungarian DIY publications. The book launch took place on October 10th at the Janus University Theatre.

ESC VOLUNTEER
PROGRAM AT DRUKKER

In October 2022, the ESC volunteer program was launched at Drukker. Over the past few years, both international and local volunteers have taken part in a wide range of projects, supporting the work of our studio. Their ten-month-long activities are supported by the European Union and the European Solidarity Corps.

During the ten months, our three volunteers gain hands-on experience in areas related to traditional printing techniques and the maintenance of a community space. They learn how to use the machines in the workshop, understand the principles and applications of various printing methods, and actively contribute to the day-to-day running of the space.

They are also involved in organizing and supporting a variety of events and programs that are part of Drukker’s everyday life — including the preparation and execution of workshops, exhibitions, and other events, as well as daily operational tasks.

EXHIBITION AND WORKSHOP ON MARGARET ISLAND

What if this year you actually felt like celebrating May Day? Instead
of mandatory parades, state-run variety shows, or eating hot dogs,
you could enjoy exciting and meaningful experiences on Margaret Island — thanks to some of the coolest independent
organizations in the country.

We spent two days celebrating at the Szabad Terek May Day event, part of the Budapest Spring Festival. As a proud member of the Szabad Terek network, our workshop contributed not only with presence, but also by designing and creating the visual identity and decorative elements of the event. This creative work was done by our amazing workshop members: Anett Csibi, Kinga Madari, Renyagyár,
Dóra Szentpéteri, and Évi Somogyi.

In addition to the many programs organized by various civil organizations, Drukker also hosted a risograph workshop for festivalgoers on Margaret Island.

HUNGARIAN POETRY DAY –
A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE ON POETRY

At the Kozármisleny Cultural Center, we organized an exhibition showcasing content from the upcoming collaborative publication by A Város Mindenkié Pécs and the Drukker Community Print Workshop. After the opening, we held a risograph workshop to celebrate Hungarian Poetry Day.

The exhibition was opened by Éva Hamvas, Chair of the Committee on Social, Educational, and Cultural Affairs, along with activists from AVM Pécs and Drukker.

SOLIDARITY ACTION WITH STRIKING TEACHERS

Education is the foundation of our future — it’s a shared
responsibility. It is essential to support teachers in their fight for recognitionand fair working conditions.

In response, several civil organizations in Pécs joined forces to organize
programs for students during the teachers’ strike on March 16. Parents who supported the demands of the educators could bring their children
to participate in various activities, showing their solidarity.

Our print workshop offered risograph sessions for high school groups at Szabadkikötő as part of this initiative.

An article covering the event was also published.

IN THE ELEPHANT’S TRUNK – DADA TÁR FANZINE + CHARITY AUCTION

Kassák Museum x Szösz Workshop x
Élménytár Tanoda x Drukker COLLAB

The Kassák Museum and SzÖSz Workshop series, leaving the capital behind, continue and enrich their successful art education programs—previously run for years within the museum’s walls—by collaborating with disadvantaged students, local artists, and civil organizations across various parts of the country. The aim is to
establish long-term professional cooperation beyond city boundaries with new partners.

The first stop was Pécs, where they organized joint sessions with the students and staff of
Élmény Tár Tanoda, a community center creating opportunities for children in one of the city’s outer districts.

The workshops built upon each other, culminating in a risograph workshop at the Drukker Community Print Workshop on the final creative day. Students got familiar with the risograph technique and its principles.
A publication was created from the works produced during the sessions.

Thanks to the new program series by Kassák Museum and SzÖSz Workshop,
Élménytár Tanoda students participated in four weeks of artistic sessions.

The result is a limited-edition, special publication featuring the children’s own work, titled In the Elephant’s Trunk.

We extend our thanks to Péter Forgách (Kassák-SzÖSz) and Anett Csibi (Drukker) for their tremendous work!

UKMUKFUKK x DRUKKER ZINEFESZT 2021

An event for local and international small publishers, printmakers, and zine creators, Ukmukfukk Zinefeszt in 2021 took a unique turn by teaming up with the DRUKKER creative community. The three-day festival was held in Pécs, Hungary, and focused primarily on showcasing Hungarian artists.

Ukmukfukk Zinefeszt was launched six years ago with the aim of capturing a snapshot of the current state of Hungarian zine culture. At the same time, it placed local creators in an international context by fostering dialogue with foreign artists visiting Hungary. These encounters led to mutually inspiring collaborations and the formation of a European subcultural platform.

Thanks in part to this, the Hungarian zine scene has undergone such growth and transformation in recent years that it was ready to be showcased on its own. Two years ago, the festival already focused on Hungarian zines, while in 2020, the spotlight was supposed to return to international creators—if not for the pandemic. However, to ensure that the celebration of zines wouldn't be skipped in 2021, a more intimate event was organized in September, in Pécs, with Hungarian zines taking center stage.

During the Pécs edition of Zinefeszt, the UKMUKFUKK festival’s exhibitors and organizing team hosted a three-day series of events to promote Hungarian zine culture—offering a platform for independent, alternative artistic and cultural figures to showcase their work, collaborate, and participate in a zine fair. The venue was provided by Szabadkikötő, which hosted daily workshops, a marketplace, and evening concerts. The event series concluded with a short film screening at Apolló Cinema, which thematically and artistically overlapped with the Hungarian zine scene.

The MOME Animation community, MOME Anim, is one of the most influential creative workshops and intellectual hubs of Hungarian animation. On the occasion of Ukmukfukk Zinefeszt, a curated selection of their animated films from the past five years—nearly 80 minutes in total—was screened, chosen by the festival organizers.

CHARITY CALENDAR 2022

We participated in the creation of a 2022 charity art calendar.

The contributing artists — Bubreg Bazsi, Ena Gergić, Marci Bordás, Biacsics Renáta, Gergely Böhm, Balázs Varga, Dusa Kovács Eszter, Treszner Barbara,
Lizom Dávid, Hildegund Kling, Imi Harangozó, and Kinga Madari —
created their works inspired by the theme “Wave.”

All proceeds from the calendar were donated
by Treszner Ltd. to the Foundation for Sick Newborns.

OUR PRIDE ZINE

szabad terek x szivárvány misszió alapítvány x drukker

“The famous Hungarians featured in this zine were highly influential creators without whom our history would
not be the same. The publication was created to show that sexual and gender minorities have existed
since the dawn of humanity and are an integral part of Hungarian culture. The world has always
been diverse, and we are proud of this diversity.”

This is the foreword of the “Our Pride” zine, in which our artists created portraits of LGBTQ artists using
linocut/riso techniques. Each portrait is paired with a quote, thematically varied, but all reflecting
something characteristic of the person portrayed.

The zine features letterpress-printed (lino, woodcut, or polymer) portraits by sixteen Drukker artists. The risograph-printed and hand-numbered edition (200 copies) was created in collaboration with the Budapest Pride team (special thanks to Viki Radványi) and realized with the support of the Szabad Terek network. The zine debuted at a Budapest Pride side event.

The publication emphasizes that diversity is a value. It encourages people to accept themselves and each other, recognize the importance of self-awareness, and actively participate in improving their communities and society as
a whole. The quotes featured present figures from the cultural canon, often in contexts not previously known or acknowledged. The zine does not take an explicit stance—instead, through subtlety and without direct declarations, it sparks thought, emotion, and curiosity, prompting further exploration.

“GREETINGS FROM PÉCS” POSTCARD SERIES

City-themed postcards, reimagined

At the end of 2020, we reimagined the concept of traditional city postcards by
creating a collection of ten prints. The visual messages of the riso-printed postcards were developed through a collaborative workshop involving ten visual artists, who reflected on each other’s ideas throughout the process. During this creative journey, the artists themselves began to see the city’s public spaces and cultural
landmarks from new perspectives.

Special thanks to Erősödő Civil Közösségek and Emberség Erejével for their support!

EZMBA 10

Retrospektív válogatás a pécsi elektronikus
zenei képzés 2010-20. közötti időszakából

2010. őszén indult az országban elsőként elektronikus zenei képzés a felsőoktatásban, és azóta is évről-évre indul évfolyam a Pécsi Tudományegyetem Művészeti Karán. Habár a decimális évfordulók

A hanglemezek vágásának megszervezése időt vesz igénybe, ezért a rendeléstől számítva 20 napon belül várható a szállítás. Transzparens és fekete színt lehet választani. A csomagban pendrive és rizó technikával készült kis füzet is található."

“LAKNI KELL” ZINE

A retrospective selection from the 2010–2020
period of electronic music education in Pécs.

A project by the B2 Special College and the Institute of Architecture at the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, University of Pécs (PTE MIK), placing the focus on issues of housing and homelessness. It explores how the symbolic strategies of social activism aimed at raising awareness, alongside concrete
support and intervention practices, as well as certain urbanistic
efforts, are able to reflect on one another.

As a complement to the project, a newspaper was published offering insight into the WE NEED TO LIVE program series, jointly organized by the Faculty of Engineering and IT at PTE and the B2 Special College.

The publication includes a description of the program
and a report by the TÁMASZ Foundation.

The newspaper was available for purchase at the handover ceremony of the completed outdoor spatial installation on September 20, 2020. Proceeds supported the Pécs branch of Heti Betevő, a local food-aid initiative.

The completed zine is the work of Ildi Moric, Dorka Böhm, and Kinga Madari.
